No AWS. No Google Cloud. No Supabase. No server anywhere. Your data stays on your machine — always.

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

Most portfolio tools call themselves "privacy-first" — then store your data on AWS. F2F-Folio is different: no server exists to breach.

🔒

Truly Local. Not "Privacy-First" SaaS.

Your portfolio data never leaves your device — no server, no account, no breach possible. AES-256 encrypted with your own PIN. Core portfolio viewing works fully offline. Internet is used only for optional features: end-of-day price refresh, benchmark comparisons, IBKR/Trading 212 live sync, and license activation. Only ticker symbols and ISINs are ever sent — never your holdings, amounts, or personal data.

🏦

12 Brokers — Europe, India & Crypto.

Dedicated parsers for IBKR, Nordnet, eToro, DEGIRO, Trading 212, Avanza, Trade Republic, Zerodha, Groww, CAS (India demat/mutual-fund statements), Coinbase, and Equalplus — single CSV, XLSX, or PDF drop; IBKR and Trading 212 can also connect live, no file needed. Any other broker with a CSV (Revolut, Fidelity, Schwab, Saxo…) imports via a guided column-mapping step. Positions reconstruct automatically, end-of-day prices fetch from Yahoo Finance.

👨‍👩‍👧

Built for Families, Up to 6 Members.

Track each family member's portfolio separately — colour-coded, privacy-masked, and merged into one family view. Nordnet multi-account CSVs auto-split by portfolio number.

🧾

Finnish, Indian & Swedish Tax Export.

Generate a Finnish Form 9A capital-gains worksheet for OmaVero from every supported foreign broker — IBKR, eToro, DEGIRO, Trading 212, Avanza, Trade Republic and Coinbase (Nordnet's realised gains are auto-reported to Vero, so they're left off by design). The deemed acquisition cost (20% / 40% hankintameno-olettama) is applied automatically whenever it beats your real cost basis, and separate Loss Tracking and Tax-Loss Harvesting tabs cover 5-year carry-forward losses and end-of-year harvesting candidates. Or an India Schedule 112A LTCG capital-gains CSV with FIFO lot-matching, plus a Schedule CG short-term worksheet (Section 111A, with the 15% / 20% pre- and post-23-Jul-2024 split). Or a Swedish Skatteverket bilaga K4 — the electronic SRU upload files (INFO.SRU + BLANKETTER.SRU) plus a worksheet CSV, covering listed shares/funds (Avsnitt A) and crypto (Avsnitt D), with ISK and kapitalförsäkring holdings auto-excluded. Enable any combination for dual tax obligations (e.g. NRI households, or a Finnish resident with a Swedish depå). CFD income handled separately per Vero guidance.

🎯

Goals & Retirement Simulator.

Set savings goals with monthly contribution targets, track your Financial Health score, and — for Finnish tax residents — model retirement income two ways under real Finnish tax rules: as a personal account or through an investment company, with gradual withdrawal modelling instead of a one-shot liquidation.

What's New

Latest improvements to make portfolio tracking smarter and easier

🏷️

Smart Symbol Names

Nordnet CSV files show cryptic symbols like NATO or XESCD? The app now automatically looks them up and displays meaningful names like "VanEck Quantum Computing UCITS ETF" — no extra work needed.

Uses OpenFIGI and Yahoo Finance APIs

Smart Duplicate Handling

Re-importing a file? The app detects duplicates and handles them intelligently: holdings get fresh prices from the new import, while transactions are skipped to prevent double-counting. You'll see exactly what happened.

Works seamlessly with re-imports

👨‍👩‍👧

Consistent Family Net Worth

Multi-member portfolios now show identical net worth figures in the Overview breakdown cards and individual member tabs — including uninvested cash estimates. No more discrepancies.

Family portfolios (up to 6 members)

🎯

Retirement Simulator

For Finnish tax residents: model your retirement two ways under real Finnish tax rules — as a personal account or through an investment company — with gradual withdrawal modelling (a 4%-rule-style drawdown) instead of a one-shot liquidation that dumps you into the top tax bracket in year one.

Frequently asked questions

Does F2F-Folio need an internet connection?

Core portfolio features — importing CSVs, viewing holdings, P&L, allocation charts, transactions history — work fully offline, in the free tier too. Tax export is a Pro feature but also works offline once unlocked. Internet is used for these optional features: (1) End-of-day price refresh — Yahoo Finance lookups after import (ticker symbols only). (2) Benchmark comparison — fetches index history from Yahoo Finance. (3) IBKR / Trading 212 live sync (Pro) — pulls trades directly from IBKR's Flex API or the Trading 212 Public API. (4) Security name lookup — OpenFIGI + Yahoo Finance for cryptic Nordnet symbols. (5) License activation — a one-time ping when you first activate your Pro key. Only ticker symbols and ISINs are ever sent externally — never your holdings, amounts, or personal data.

Is my data GDPR compliant?

Yes — because there is no data processing. Everything stays on your device in encrypted local storage. External connections are made only for optional features (price refresh, benchmarks, IBKR/Trading 212 sync, license activation) and only ticker symbols or ISINs are sent — never your holdings, amounts, names, or any personal data. There is nothing to be GDPR-compliant about.

Which brokers and countries are supported?

Europe: Nordnet (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark), IBKR (all European accounts), eToro (EU retail), DEGIRO (pan-EU), Trading 212 (pan-EU), Avanza (Sweden), Trade Republic (EU — native CSV export via Profile → Account Statements). India: Zerodha (Tradebook + Tax P&L), Groww (P&L Report), and CAS statements (NSDL/CDSL demat + CAMS/KFintech mutual fund folios) — covering any Indian broker via your consolidated account statement. Crypto: Coinbase. Plus Equalplus/Computershare employee share plans. Any other broker that exports a CSV — Revolut, Fidelity, Schwab, Saxo, Vanguard and the rest — imports through a guided column-mapping step (map the file's columns once, F2F-Folio remembers the layout); pure manual entry is there too for assets with no export at all, like bank savings, pensions or property. More brokers get dedicated parsers over time. CSV/PDF import is unlimited and free for every broker above — connect as many as you like. Note: IBKR (Flex Query) and Trading 212 (Public API) additionally offer live auto-sync as a Pro feature, no manual download needed — every broker still works via CSV/XLSX/PDF import on the free tier, including IBKR and Trading 212 themselves.

Does it support Trade Republic?

Yes — Trade Republic added a native CSV export in April 2026. In the Trade Republic app, go to Profile → Account Statements → Transaction Export, select your date range, and tap Create. Import the downloaded CSV into F2F-Folio and your holdings are reconstructed automatically with live prices from Yahoo Finance.

Do you support Indian brokers and Indian tax reporting?

Yes. Zerodha (Tradebook for trade history, Tax P&L for realized gains and dividends) and Groww (P&L Report) are natively supported, and a CAS (Consolidated Account Statement) PDF import covers any other Indian broker via NSDL/CDSL demat holdings or CAMS/KFintech mutual fund folios. For tax reporting, F2F-Folio generates an India Schedule 112A long-term capital gains CSV with FIFO lot-matching, plus a Schedule CG short-term worksheet for Section 111A gains (with the 15% / 20% pre- and post-23-Jul-2024 rate split) — and if you have tax obligations in both India and Finland (e.g. an NRI household), both reports can be enabled at the same time.

Do you support Finnish and Swedish broker exports?

Yes. Nordnet CSV imports are fully supported including Finnish (fi), Swedish (sv), and English (en) column formats. A Finnish Form 9A capital-gains worksheet for OmaVero is built in, covering realised gains from every supported foreign broker — IBKR, eToro, DEGIRO, Trading 212, Avanza, Trade Republic and Coinbase. Nordnet's realised gains are deliberately left off: Nordnet reports them to Vero itself via the annual income statement, so you don't declare them on Form 9A. For brokers that don't put a realised-P&L figure in their export (DEGIRO, Trade Republic, Coinbase), F2F-Folio reconstructs it by FIFO lot-matching — import enough history to cover the purchases behind each sale, and any sale it can't match is flagged rather than guessed. The worksheet applies the 20% / 40% deemed acquisition cost automatically where it lowers the taxable gain, and separate Loss Tracking and Tax-Loss Harvesting tabs handle 5-year carry-forward losses (crypto and share losses; CFD losses aren't deductible) and year-end harvesting candidates. For Swedish residents there is a separate Skatteverket bilaga K4 export — the electronic SRU upload files (INFO.SRU + BLANKETTER.SRU) plus a worksheet CSV, covering listed shares/funds (Avsnitt A) and crypto (Avsnitt D) on FIFO cost basis, with ISK and kapitalförsäkring holdings auto-excluded since those are schablon-taxed and never go on K4.

What language is the app in?

The interface is English only. F2F-Folio reads Finnish- and Swedish-language broker exports (Nordnet fi/sv column formats) and generates a Finnish Form 9A capital-gains worksheet for OmaVero, but the app’s own screens, menus and labels are not translated. A localised UI is not currently on the roadmap.

Is there a free version?

Yes, and it's free forever, not a time-limited demo — Overview, Holdings, Charts, Transactions, Benchmark, Dividends, Notes, Fees & Charges, and unlimited-broker CSV/PDF import all stay free with no expiry. A 7-day trial gives you full Pro access up front so you can try everything before deciding; when it ends, you keep using the free tier — nothing you've already entered is ever locked or deleted. Pro (€49 one-time) additionally unlocks: broker auto-sync (IBKR Flex Query, Trading 212 API), multi-user/family portfolios, Tax/Harvesting, the NRI Net Worth view, Performance, Rebalance, Goals, Watchlist, and Journey milestones.

What does the lifetime Pro license include?

All bug fixes and security patches for v1.x, email support, and all platform builds (Windows + macOS), on top of the Pro features listed above. Future major versions (v2.0+) may be a separate paid upgrade. EU VAT is included in the €49 Pro price — handled by Lemon Squeezy.

How do I import my portfolio?

Export a CSV or XLSX from your broker and drop it into the app. F2F-Folio auto-detects the broker and imports holdings and transactions. Nordnet positions are reconstructed automatically from your transaction history — no separate portfolio export needed.

Are prices real-time?

No — F2F-Folio uses Yahoo Finance end-of-day prices, which are delayed (roughly 15 minutes for US markets, end-of-day for European exchanges). A "Refresh prices" button in the app header lets you fetch the latest available prices at any time. IBKR and Trading 212 users who set up live sync get the broker's own mark prices directly. For a personal portfolio tracker the difference rarely matters — what changes daily is the price, not whether it is 15 minutes old.

What is the refund policy?

F2F-Folio includes a 7-day free trial so you can evaluate it before buying. All sales are final after purchase.

Will Windows show a warning when I install it?

Yes — for now. F2F-Folio v1.0 ships without a Windows code-signing certificate (a solo developer can't get one without a registered company, and we chose to launch rather than wait), so Windows SmartScreen shows a blue "Windows protected your PC" dialog on first run. Click "More info", then "Run anyway". This is an identity check, not a malware check — signing proves who published the app, not that it's safe. To verify the download yourself, we publish a SHA-256 checksum for every release file — the current values, and the one-line check command for each OS, are in the "Verify your download" section of the releases page (fire2freedom.com/releases). A signed build is planned once the app has revenue behind it. The macOS build is notarized by Apple, so it won't show a comparable warning.

What are those cryptic symbols (NATO, XESCD, GBSE) in my Nordnet CSV?

Those are trading symbols from Nordnet that don't always match their full fund names. Starting with the latest version, F2F-Folio automatically looks them up and displays meaningful names like "VanEck Quantum Computing UCITS ETF" or "Xetra-Gold". The app queries OpenFIGI and Yahoo Finance (public ISIN codes only — no personal data) to find the real names. If internet is unavailable, it shows the ISIN as a clickable link to look it up manually.

What happens if I re-import the same CSV file?

The app detects duplicates intelligently. Holdings are updated with the fresh data from the new import (so you get the latest prices), while transactions are skipped to prevent double-counting. You'll see a message like "10 duplicates detected (holdings updated with fresh data, transactions skipped)" so you know exactly what happened.

What happens to my data if Fire2Freedom shuts down?

Nothing — because your data was never stored with us in the first place. F2F-Folio is a locally-installed app: all your holdings, transactions, and settings live entirely on your own machine, both in your browser's local storage and in an on-disk backup the app itself maintains independently of the browser (with up to 5 automatic prior versions, restorable in-app if you ever need to roll back). If Fire2Freedom ceased to exist tomorrow, the app you already downloaded would keep working exactly as before, offline, forever. Your license keeps working too — it is verified on your own device with no server check, so it never phones home. Price refresh also keeps working: end-of-day prices come straight from Yahoo Finance, not from any Fire2Freedom server. What you would lose is future updates, support, and the ability to buy new licenses — and, on a long enough horizon, price refresh could degrade if the public market-data sources the app uses change their APIs and there is no new app version to adapt (see the next question). You can also export a full JSON backup at any time from the app header — one click gives you a portable file with everything, readable by any text editor.

What if Yahoo Finance stops providing prices?

Your records are unaffected — cost basis, transaction history, realised gains, dividend totals, fees and every tax export (Finnish Form 9A, India Schedule 112A and Section 111A, Swedish Skatteverket K4, all FIFO lot-matched) are computed from the data you imported, not from live prices. Only the current market value and unrealised P&L depend on a price feed. If a feed goes down, your holdings keep their last fetched price (shown with an "as of" date) so the portfolio still displays — it just stops moving. The app already tries several sources in turn — multiple Yahoo Finance endpoints, then Stooq, with public relays as a further fallback — so one endpoint breaking is usually absorbed automatically; this happened in July 2026 and was fixed in an app update. You can also refresh prices without any feed by re-importing a recent broker statement (holdings update to that statement's valuation), and IBKR and Trading 212 live-sync carry the broker's own mark prices. If a source changed permanently, a future app version would repoint to another one.
