Folio brings together your IBKR, Nordnet, eToro, DEGIRO, Trading 212, Avanza, Trade Republic, Zerodha, Groww, and Coinbase accounts in one offline dashboard. Unlike cloud tools, your data never leaves your device — not even for a millisecond.
No AWS. No Google Cloud. No Supabase. No server anywhere. Your data stays on your machine — always.
Most portfolio tools call themselves "privacy-first" — then store your data on AWS. Folio is different: no server exists to breach.
Your portfolio data never leaves your device — no server, no account, no breach possible. AES-256 encrypted with your own PIN. Core portfolio viewing works fully offline. Internet is used only for optional features: end-of-day price refresh, benchmark comparisons, macro alerts, IBKR live sync, and license activation. Only ticker symbols and ISINs are ever sent — never your holdings, amounts, or personal data.
Import from IBKR, Nordnet, eToro, DEGIRO, Trading 212, Avanza, Trade Republic, Zerodha, Groww, CAS (India demat/mutual-fund statements), Coinbase, and Equalplus. Single CSV, XLSX, or PDF drop. Positions reconstruct automatically, live prices fetch from Yahoo Finance.
Track each family member's portfolio separately — colour-coded, privacy-masked, and merged into one family view. Nordnet multi-account CSVs auto-split by portfolio number.
Generate a Finnish OmaVero Form 9A / VSY09A file, or an India Schedule 112A LTCG capital-gains CSV with FIFO lot-matching — enable both at once for dual tax obligations (e.g. NRI households). CFD income handled separately per Vero Finland guidance.
Set savings goals with monthly contribution targets, track your Financial Health score, and — for Finnish tax residents — model retirement income two ways under real Finnish tax rules: as a personal account or through an investment company, with gradual withdrawal modelling instead of a one-shot liquidation.

Latest improvements to make portfolio tracking smarter and easier
Nordnet CSV files show cryptic symbols like NATO or XESCD? The app now automatically looks them up and displays meaningful names like "VanEck Quantum Computing UCITS ETF" — no extra work needed.
Uses OpenFIGI and Yahoo Finance APIs
Re-importing a file? The app detects duplicates and handles them intelligently: holdings get fresh prices from the new import, while transactions are skipped to prevent double-counting. You'll see exactly what happened.
Works seamlessly with re-imports
Multi-member portfolios now show identical net worth figures in the Overview breakdown cards and individual member tabs — including uninvested cash estimates. No more discrepancies.
Family portfolios (up to 6 members)
For Finnish tax residents: model your retirement two ways under real Finnish tax rules — as a personal account or through an investment company — with gradual withdrawal modelling (a 4%-rule-style drawdown) instead of a one-shot liquidation that dumps you into the top tax bracket in year one.
Finland-specific tax modelling, in the Goals tab
Core portfolio features — importing CSVs, viewing holdings, P&L, allocation charts, transactions history, tax export — work fully offline. Internet is used for these optional features: (1) End-of-day price refresh — Yahoo Finance lookups after import (ticker symbols only). (2) Benchmark comparison — fetches index history from Yahoo Finance. (3) Macro alerts — RSS feed of market signals. (4) IBKR live sync — pulls trades directly from IBKR's Flex API. (5) Security name lookup — OpenFIGI + Yahoo Finance for cryptic Nordnet symbols. (6) License activation — a one-time ping when you first activate your key. Only ticker symbols and ISINs are ever sent externally — never your holdings, amounts, or personal data.
Yes — because there is no data processing. Everything stays on your device in encrypted local storage. External connections are made only for optional features (price refresh, benchmarks, alerts, IBKR sync, license activation) and only ticker symbols or ISINs are sent — never your holdings, amounts, names, or any personal data. There is nothing to be GDPR-compliant about.
Europe: Nordnet (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark), IBKR (all European accounts), eToro (EU retail), DEGIRO (pan-EU), Trading 212 (pan-EU), Avanza (Sweden), Trade Republic (EU — native CSV export via Profile → Account Statements). India: Zerodha (Tradebook + Tax P&L), Groww (P&L Report), and CAS statements (NSDL/CDSL demat + CAMS/KFintech mutual fund folios) — covering any Indian broker via your consolidated account statement. Crypto: Coinbase. Plus Equalplus/Computershare employee share plans and manual entry for anything else. More brokers on the roadmap.
Yes — Trade Republic added a native CSV export in April 2026. In the Trade Republic app, go to Profile → Account Statements → Transaction Export, select your date range, and tap Create. Import the downloaded CSV into Folio and your holdings are reconstructed automatically with live prices from Yahoo Finance.
Yes. Zerodha (Tradebook for trade history, Tax P&L for realized gains and dividends) and Groww (P&L Report) are natively supported, and a CAS (Consolidated Account Statement) PDF import covers any other Indian broker via NSDL/CDSL demat holdings or CAMS/KFintech mutual fund folios. For tax reporting, Folio generates an India Schedule 112A long-term capital gains CSV with FIFO lot-matching — and if you have tax obligations in both India and Finland (e.g. an NRI household), both reports can be enabled at the same time.
Yes. Nordnet CSV imports are fully supported including Finnish (fi), Swedish (sv), and English (en) column formats. Finnish OmaVero Form 9A XML export is built in. Swedish tax export is on the roadmap.
All bug fixes and security patches for v1.x, email support, and all platform builds (Windows + macOS). Future major versions (v2.0+) may be a separate paid upgrade. EU VAT is included in the €49 price — handled by Lemon Squeezy.
Export a CSV or XLSX from your broker and drop it into the app. Folio auto-detects the broker and imports holdings and transactions. Nordnet positions are reconstructed automatically from your transaction history — no separate portfolio export needed.
No — Folio uses Yahoo Finance end-of-day prices, which are delayed (15–20 minutes for US markets, end-of-day for European exchanges). A "Refresh prices" button in the app header lets you fetch the latest available prices at any time. IBKR users get authoritative mark prices directly from their Activity Statement. For a personal portfolio tracker the difference rarely matters — what changes daily is the price, not whether it is 15 minutes old.
Folio includes a 7-day free trial so you can evaluate it before buying. All sales are final after purchase.
Those are trading symbols from Nordnet that don't always match their full fund names. Starting with the latest version, Folio automatically looks them up and displays meaningful names like "VanEck Quantum Computing UCITS ETF" or "Xetra-Gold". The app queries OpenFIGI and Yahoo Finance (public ISIN codes only — no personal data) to find the real names. If internet is unavailable, it shows the ISIN as a clickable link to look it up manually.
The app detects duplicates intelligently. Holdings are updated with the fresh data from the new import (so you get the latest prices), while transactions are skipped to prevent double-counting. You'll see a message like "10 duplicates detected (holdings updated with fresh data, transactions skipped)" so you know exactly what happened.
Nothing — because your data was never stored with us in the first place. Folio is a locally-installed app: all your holdings, transactions, and settings live in your browser's localStorage on your own machine. If Fire2Freedom ceased to exist tomorrow, the app you already downloaded would continue working exactly as before, offline, forever. Prices would stop refreshing (Yahoo Finance) and license checks would fail, but your data is yours and always has been. You can also export a full JSON backup at any time from the app header — one click gives you a portable file with everything, readable by any text editor.
